Following up from “The Jewish Rally for Abortion Justice” from just over a month ago, we now have the final decision from the Supreme Court and understand that they have overturned Roe v. Wade.
 
There is anger, grief, sadness and uncertainty abounding in communities and households around the country. We don’t know the extent to which this ruling will have an impact on various states but we know that there are already states with laws that will go into effect severely limiting abortion and that the lives of many women will be negatively impacted.
 
The National Council of Jewish Women has proposed for communities to gather tomorrow night for Havdalah to support one another and to reflect on the impact this ruling will have. It will separate this Shabbat from the next week and it will mark a separation of a time where there was access to one where there is no longer the case for many.
