Environmental Responsibility: Caring for Our Planet
The Green Committee welcomes all who are interested in improving how we take care of the earth and each other. As part of tikkun olam we focus on activities that change how we treat our planet - acts that connect us more with places we inhabit, plants and animals with whom we share these spaces and with each other. Want to get involved? Contact Green Committee Chair Carla Ellern.

Montgomery County Electric Vehicle Purchasing Cooperative (EVPC)
Montgomery County is Leading the Charge on Electric Vehicles!
In support of Montgomery County’s Climate Action Plan goal to eliminate greenhouse gases (GHG) by 2035, the Pilot Phase of the Montgomery County EVPC was launched on January 20, 2022. The centerpiece of this Pilot Phase, which will run through the end of May 2022, is a challenge to sign the EVPC’s online pledge and commit to make your next car an EV!
By signing the pledge, community members will help demonstrate consumer demand for EVs, which the County can leverage in a subsequent phase to negotiate purchase incentives for EV purchases or leases. to adopt zero-emissions vehicles by providing information on the robust benefits of EVs and the resources available to support the transition to zero-emissions electric vehicles.
To find out more visit the EVPC website.
Do you already drive electric, or have you signed the pledge? Share your leadership on social media with the hashtags #MCEVPC #LeadTheEVCharge.
