Pirkei Avot (typically translated as “Ethics of Our Fathers”) is the one Mishnah tractate that deals solely with ethical and moral principles. Each class will explore a short set of passages in Pirkei Avot and discuss their relation to Halakha and their relevance to the practice of Judaism and modern life. Study will be led by a rotating cast of knowledgeable TI members. 

Participants are asked to purchase The Koren Pirkei Avot. To facilitate a rich discussion, everyone is encouraged to bring additional translations and commentaries, of which there are many. 

This is a drop-in series, open to the community on Shabbat afternoons.
