Led by Rabbi Werbow Club BBK (Bar/Bat/Kabbalat) gives the BBK mitzvah students and families an opportunity to form a cohort of friends and to broaden connections with Judaism. The BBK cohort, together with their families, meets regularly on Sunday mornings as well as gathering for a Shabbat dinner and Havdalah during the year. In addition, all Club BBK students are encouraged to attend at least 25 Shabbat morning services during the year before their simcha. Periodically, following the Shabbat service, the Rabbi spends a few minutes talking to the BBK students about that week’s Torah portion.

The framework of each Sunday session includes participation in morning minyan and time for light snacks and socializing, followed by a learning session. Topics focus on preparing both students and their families for the BBK mitzvah experience, including subjects they should have in their toolbox as adult members of the Jewish community.
