The Washington Area Funeral Practices Contract

Tifereth Israel has saved Washington area Jewish families millions of dollars! In the mid-1970s TI was instrumental in forming the Jewish Funeral Practices Committee of Greater Washington. In the last nine years alone more than 1,400 Jews in the Washington area used the contract (currently with Hines Rinaldi) that the committee negotiates and monitors. Learn how the contract works, pre-need vs. at-need, out of state issues, which other synagogues participate, what the costs are, and how to find the contract details. David Zinner is the Executive Director of Tifereth Israel, and also the Vice President of the Jewish Funeral Practices Committee of Greater Washington. He’s been working with negotiating, publishing, monitoring, and evaluating the funeral contract for the last 15 years.
